Twenty-Three

[verse1:]
I had just begun to thank my lucky stars
Before every one of them began to fall
My world was turned upside down
The day you left me without a sound

[chorus:]
'Cause I was afraid of heights
And I was afraid to fall
But then you took my hand
And said, "Don't worry at all"
And you kept my heart safe for me
Until, June twenty-three

[verse2:]
There was that day in your room
Where we whispered I love yous
And we held hands and we made plans
For a future that now we'll never begin

[chorus]

[verse3:]
So here's to, 3 months
And now, 3 weeks
Yeah, to 2 hearts, that break
And now it's just me, yeah, wondering
What went wrong

[chorus] x 2

Until you gave my heart back to me
On June twenty-three
My world ended on
June twenty-three
There's no "us" just
You and me since
June twenty-three

Author notes

Yeah.. this is kind of a work in progress. The chorus just popped into my head, and i just kinda flew through developing the verses. I'll refine it later..
