I took a journey
to find the purpose of life
I climbed the highest mountain
to ask the sage on top
He sat quietly, patiently
welcoming me in his hut
I said, "What is life's purpose?
You of all people should know."
"Ah," he answered, "you've passed it by."
Baffled was I by his reply
How dare he insult my question
But he continued on
"Life is what you make it to be.
No one knows its path.
Its much like those who ask its purpose."
And with that, he vanished
Author notes
Alright. i tried to imitate the writing of Stephan Crane.
unfortunitly, i dont think im quite as gifted as he was, since he wrote more along the lines of philosophy.
but. here is my attempt.

I am not familiar with the writing of Stephan Crane, however, I do feel this poem has deep meaning. Often the answers to the questions we ask about life are there right in front of our nose, yet we are not fully in tune with life in the sense of what is truly important and miss the point of it all.
Well Done!
