Ode to Dolphins

Diving into forbidden blue chasms
Open, free, careless, friendly, happy
Leaping in a graceful arc above the salty waves
Playing happily among brilliant red coral reefs
Hastening to rescue the man sinking into the murky depths
In broken caves darts after small green fish
Nurturing, intelligent, curious, cooperative
Swimming along side the graceful bow of a ship

    Dolphins should not be eaten.

This is a poem that I suspect reflects more on the writer than on the Dolphin: "Diving into forbidden blue chasms, nurturing, intelligent, curious, cooperative." We have here, a human and not a Dolpin. Dolphins can be outer directed but it is the inner directed Dolphin that I am fascinated by. What is going on with them? What don't we understand? Are they "playing happily" or is this another form of bonding?. This has gotten me interested in these question, rather than answered them.
