The Lord's My Shepherd

The Lord is my Shepherd
My maker, my guide, my friend
He walks with me each step I take
Every day of my life.

Although I can not see Him
He's there, I feel Him in my heart
He's my true, loyal and invisible friend
One that will never forsaken me.

If I stray from His path
He will not leave me
When life gets me down
He will carry me

He gave me still waters to walk by
Green grassy meadows
The songs of the birds and
The smell of the flowers.

He never asked what I liked
Gave me a little of each
He asked for nothing in return
A true friend indeed

Let not your hearts be troubled
With the worries and cares of life
Let you heart belong to God
For He will guide to the right path

Author notes

As I am currently dealing with my own sickness and not working.. I have put my faith in God to carry me through this tough time.. I know He will be there for me.

God’s hand and reach knows no bounds Lori. I’ve learned a lot while away from AP, experience tells me one of the reasons we’ve God given free will and he won’t interfere with this, is so we can learn to conquer and defeat self.

He’s a mighty God for sure, his wisdom has no limit. Reminds me to be more appreciative while reading this poem.

    God Bless you

    Truly inspiring!

Hi Lori! Great Write! What a refreshing spin on the 23rd Psalm ;didn't cause me to cry. Before my late hubby died, I would visit the chapel every-other day, and grab a weekly bulletin tio read. That Psalm was there. That reading is coming up soon, in our Liturgy, this time of year. It saddened me at the time, as he was so gravely ill, no pun intended. I never thought as that prayer so positive, for it is always spoken in the Christain Mass for the Dead. It made me think! So often we get down, and need a reminder that God is with us even in times of despair. It may be hard to believe in difficult times. I praise you for your faith. It is like a beacon in the night! Keep inspiring us! Thank you, God Bless you! Love, LadyJ

To all there is a season
    a cycle to this life
For all there is a reason
    for the happiness and strife
    A melting of duality
in all that we do see
To remain we need both parts
or only half of us will be

    Hugs....feel better soon...

This a wonderful psalm of the heart as it seeks to be focused upon the heavenly realms. May you find the direction you need and may you find rest for your soul. Blessings and best wishes, ~richard
