Never A Goodbye

I look into my minds eye,
and i see you,
my heart is overwhelmed with grief,
as i look into the lie,
written in your eyes,
as i say, " i love you too,"
and hold in my belief...
Can you still love, still care?
or is your heart too worn and cold,
to turn and leave me crying,
my tender heart still dieing,
and you never say, "Goodbye."

    Thought provoking

It is odd. I was just thinking about connotations and preconceived notions. Sometimes a person doesn't say good-bye because the person could care less. Others because the person really cares about a person and doesn't want to hurt the person and just needs to leave for personal reasons. No matter what kind "If love was meant to be it will return to thee."

Oh wow... another poem that I can relate too espescially with the end again. Could be just me, but you're ending in your poetry all make me say "I know that feeling..."

Great write, and I know how it is to never have a "goodbye" and it only makes the wonder, the pain worse. It's like we're not even good enough to be told the truth.

In truth though, they're just too much of a coward to come forth with their honesty, and in the end, isn't that a better thing? Than to be wrapped up a one-sided relationship.

Well, this is really quite sad. I can see why you called your contest Love and Hate. Nicely written. Hugs, Patricia
