Task arduously borne
road long, imagined barren.
Wind whispers encouragement
the sun relentless, cruel.
Discovery of single tree
scrubby, nearly devoid.
Shade feeble, nay sparse
he rests fitfully.
Heedless ant marching
eternity skipping by.
His path seems erratic
steps courageous and sure.
Man realizes in vision
his task not unlike the ant.
Perspective slightly larger
yet his true is no truer.
Task borne once again
knowing; he is not alone.
Steps falling in place
wind whispers his name...
