If you take the time to stand apart
you might see something begin to start.
If you even take a look you might see,
what holds on to lifes holding key,
to learn what you might be,
to take what you believe.
Tell the world who you are,
see where you will go and how far.
When your trust was broke and took time to let it soak,
Tears drown out your smiles and joy,
the devil laughs at his evil ploy.
But if you'll only lend an ear,
there will be a whisper for you to hear.
If you'll only take the time and look in that mirror,
you will learn how to leave your fear.
Turn to Him who will save you,
He will make each morning anew.
His hand is out and he asks for yours,
He will make your heart soar,
He wants you to have so much more.
Stop waiting for the world to get better,
lifes not all one romantic letter.
I don't understand all His ways,
Nor the things that seem grey.
I don't know why He gives and takes away.
Maybe its to bring another soul to light,
Maybe its to remind you that you're in a fight.
Many things are unclear
and many times I feel a desperate fear.
I know what it is to shed and invisible tear,
when all hope has disappeared.
I remember the metal touching the skin,
when I almost gave in.
I remember the frustration of anger,
when my very life was in danger.

Wow, I enjoyed this one. You flowed this one into lurid tones and alot of emotion. There was only one flaw I found, The form looked a little choppy but it was saved by the flow. The emotion and personal reflections in it was outstanding. You did an amazing job with this one. Awesome write.

Very interesting, a poem that calls for realization, the love of a friend that binds it together and the resolve of understanding at the end. This friend means a lot to write this, I would love to help refine it, its already very good and it feels its words are true to your heart. I would need to know who this poem is for to ever be able to critique and find some way to make it any better than it already is. I am dealing with the same issues with a friend of mine; maybe we can work together on it. Take care and :-)
