Dear Heavenly Father,
You made our hearts to knit together
with Your silver thread.
You made our bodies to meld into one perfect unity
that defies separation.
You made our minds to play hide-and-seek
but eventually mingle into one thought.
And You made our spirits to soar together in perfect harmony
as we sing praises to our King.
So, dear Lord, how can I stand it when
his heart is broken and his spirit is dark
and the pain lacerates his whole being?
Dear Jesus, I pray for my dear husband tonight.
I ask You to protect him from all the evil plans
and purposes of the enemy.
Please cover him with your blood from the top
of his head to the souls of his feet
just as Aaron was drenched in holy oils.
Build him up in his faith in You.
Let him know he is the head of this household
and the honorable father to his children
and that you are well pleased with him.
Let him know he is a mighty man of God
and a warrior for Your Kingdom.
Please give him the desires of his heart.
Lord I pray that the attacks of the enemy
against my whole household are made so futile
and so weak they become nothing but a
p u f f
of harmless smoke.
Your will, not my will, be done.
Thank You for hearing me.
Thank You that I can come to You
with my petitions and prayers.
You are always there to listen.
You are our shield
and our exceedingly great reward.
I love You Lord.

I think this is one one of the sweetest poems I've ever read. You are such a terrific writer and It is sweet that you'd pray about your husband like this. I am sure Jesus will keep your husband from evil. Just keep prayin' and keep writin'!

Yes...the enemy tries to keep us from asking for prayer but it is so important. We need to live in the spirit more and less in the world. satan hates that.

The Lord works in the most mysterious ways, and just when you cannot see anything at all, He brings out the light that was there all along. Somewhere, even in our suffering, His plan to draw us to Him is coming together, and we, as Christians must have faith in His faithfulness.
I liked this poem, your faith is strong throughout and your determiness to remain with the Lord is admirable. A well written piece, I'm sorry to hear of your trouble, but do not give up on God, He never gives up on you.

What a beautiful prayer from your heart. I can tell you really love your husband that you would go before the Lord for him.
Yet knowing that he is the hope for him and can do all things

Thank you Vickie. You are so right. Last night we read and claimed Psalm 121 and Psalm 120. that was right before I worte this prayer poem. I see the Lord breaking through the enemies ranks and shining His light on my husband so he can see the path. The victory is at hand. Thank you.....-joanne

Our husbands need our prayer support everyday. It's so easy for the enemy to come in and attack them destroying their confidence and self worth. I pray for a hedge of protection around your husband and family. The Bible says that whenever a flood comes against us, the Lord raises up a standard against it and I claim that for your hubby and family. No weapon formed against you shall prosper and any tongue that rises against you shall be proven to be in the wrong in the name of Jesus. I am always reminded of how Jesus fought satan in the wilderness-with all that He could have called down from Heaven-it was the Word of God that He used to fight every attack of the enemy. For the enemy cannot stand to hear the Word-for he knows that every knee will bow one day and proclaim that Jesus is Lord over all-including him. You just keep that armour up and dodge all those fiery darts the enemy is trying to hit you guys with. You know that the shield the soldiers used in those days was a huge thing and it was heavy- they had to set it on the ground, but it was big enough to cover their bodies and provide protection and that is what you faith acts as when you walk in it. Isn't God good to think of everything? I am expecting to read a poem about victory over this soon from you-b/c it is yours and you will see it!! amen and amen!!!!
