A Prayer of Gratitude

Missing image
Thank you Lord.

It's been three long weeks
and I can hardly speak
of the joy I now feel
because You are so real.

Thank you for guiding me.
Thank You for letting me see
the darkness in my own soul
that only you could really know.

I cried out for revival in my land.
I asked for You to place Your hand
on the lives of those dying
and for those in pain and crying.

Little did I really know
that You had a lot of things to show
this daughter who was lost in her despair
and who was blinded by all her cares.

The revival that I was praying for
had to happen inside of me for sure
before Your love could be poured out
through me to others who will hold many doubts.

Thank You lord for setting me free
from my own self-made captivity.
Thank you for showing me Your light
and for taking away my every fright.

Help me now Lord to learn to live
in Your power and in Your strength to forgive
and to bless the children you send my way
each and every new school day.

I love You Lord with all my might
each and every day and night.
Please send Your Spirit to keep guiding me
ever closer to Your awesome will for Me.

Thank you Lord.

Author notes

I wrote this poem at the end of a 21 day fast which started out to be just a diet and turned into a fast for revival for my neighborhood and eventually bacame for revival for me.

God is so awesome. It is so good living for Him and Him alone.

Joanne, such a beautiful prayer you have written here. I agree with you, the Lord is always there to pick us up when we are down. And our prayers for gratitude will always be appreciated by Him. God is good, and I believe that He never forsake those who have faith in Him. Bless you! Eris

Joanne, it looks like your fast went beyond the limits you had mentally put on it-isn't God good? We tend to put Him in a box and it surprises us when He breaks down the sides and does more than we thought He would...It looks like you also have an answer to your prayer about returning to your former school. I praise the Lord with you! Wonderful poem of prayer-not only in flow but in meaning!~vj
