Of happy days gone by
Her sweet laughter echoed
The aroma of drugs flowing in the sky
She was born so special
Raised and matured with love
Watching her spread her little wings
One by one like a graceful dove
Her days became so busy
Going her separate way
The night became her life
I tried to lift her up in praise
She lived in a home so full of love
Were did she learn to take the drugs
The memories I hold close to my heart
I thank our farther above
I may not tell her often
Just what she means to me
If she were not by my side
How lonely life would be
I look into her brown eyes
It hurts beyond human words , why
To see my child so thin and empty of life
Knowing her heart in the midnight cries
Her babies cry out with prayers of song
Needing a Mother in her right mind
A home safe and in one place
Will she see, to make it in time

Ugh, you socked me in the stomach with this, I have been the daughter and I have seen daughters go down this path. Best of luck to you hon, the girl is more blessed than you know that she still has you, I know many girls who have been forgotten. Please take care. Oh, on the writing tip great flow and wording, all around an excellent write.

while there is hope in the world and in people's hearts there are smiles to be found in life even in the sad times we experience, a good piece here. spill ink and twist me into the crazy shape of love...

It is sad to see what dug abuse does to families and when you have that addiction you just don't see what it is that you are doing to your loved ones around you, you just think of your next high it is like an evil that consumes you.. If this is about a true experience the only thing you can do is love, love, love. I too have had my addictions as well I am sobber six years now. I am recovering from dugs and alcohal and my family just gave up. This really hits home.. Thanks for entering.

I think she finally has! All of our love and prayers seem to be working! She has finally come to the point where she realizes that she does not want that life.I just hope and pray she does not soon forget! Awesome poem, it touches my heart every time I read it!

This is so sad and i'm sorry you have to watch as someone you love throws their life away on drugs, it's a hard situation because the more you try to help them the more they go off and take drugs, unless they are willing to help themselves all you can do is wait patiently and just be there. A heartfelt poem.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts

I hope she realizes she is loved and worth the love people have for her.
She is special but she doesn't believe it. I pray she finds her way out of her darkness.
This brings tears to my eyes.
