You Say I'm Too Young...

You say I'm too young to hear what you say,
That I should ask some other day,
You say I'm too young to understand,
Too young for you to let go of my hand,
You say I'm too young, but if you just looked into my eyes,
You'd see that maybe I'm the one you should come to for advice,
No one else is helping you, no one else is there for you,
You just tell me what is needed, and that, I promise to do,
Yet you continue to tell me that I'm too young,
But if you look, the immature I'm not among,
I have my own life to carry on, my own problems to figure out,
But if you get to know me, you'll know what I'm about,
And maybe you'll see I'm not too young, too young to understand,
That sometimes even a grown-up needs a helping hand...
