A Bridge Yet Traveled

There is a bridge yet traveled
It spans across now and then.
Each plank represents a milestone
Who knows where it may end.

A step from me and one from you
A little give and a little take.
Together from one end to the other
Someday this journey we’ll make.

Tread carefully for our hearts
Know why this bridge was built.
We’ll have to let go of pain and hurt
Release all doubt and guilt.

Hold tight to the banisters of forgiveness
Cling to the rails of understand.
Until we reach the middle and
Walk together hand in hand.
