Just Got Back

I just got back
From my walk to the end of the Earth
And while I was out I thought about you
In my mind I saw your face, your smile
And I missed you

While I was gone I saw a small dog
It reminded me of my puppy I once had
I remember her running around in my yard
Her little bark that drove us all crazy
And I missed her

While I was away I stubbed my toes
I thought of my father and of his hands
He always fixed my ouchies and told me it'd be okay
I wished he was there, my hoot hurt so bad (but I did not stop)
And I missed him

If I could go back in time, I'd redo so many things
I would've never let you go
I would've taken my puppy out for more walks
I would've told my father that I loved him everyday
I would've never left home

You realize how important the things you have are
*When* *you* *longer* *have* *them*
