Small fry was a curious seal
his shiny coat was shiny black
one day his maw went a fishing
so sad, she never did come back
He swam around lost for hours
then laid upon the sandy beach
safe from all of the predators
now safe and sound out of reach
He slept away the dark of night
til the sunrise neared again
soon waves washed upon him
as the high tide reappeared
He saw he had been stranded
on an island beach all alone
the safety of his mother's love
the only thing he had known
Something floating in the water
swimming very very slow
it was not going anywhere
stuck in the dreadful undertow
Small fry jumped in the water
swam fast towards what he saw
then he heard another seal say
please help me I am your maw
As small fry reached his mother
then they both quickly swam away
his adventure was now over
they swam together in the bay
