faulty remembrance

And here lies Joe Nobody;
lived his life in a broken shadow,
a false attempt for privilege
shaken by chaotic scorn.

Here today, gone tomorrow
never stayed long enough to catch his breath;
sending signals of "almost promises"
to every soul that crossed his path.

Shattered dreams in every pocket
crooked nose matching crooked existence;
standing lonely in a damaged forest
he hangs his head at his cause and effect.

Struck down by a deadly weapon,
mouths of poor and rich alike.
As if a blade ripping an open wound
a life is taken that was never there.
