For My Son...

All that I had imagined, I knew was gold to touch,
All that I had envisioned, held hopes of oh so much,
My dreams were my inspiration, and wings upon my feet,
My faith was my foundation, and made each day sweet,
The light that my heart raised, did much to light my way,
The Lord that my heart loved, was light and life to day.

I knew that if I stumbled, on any step I took,
There would always be another, that I more safely looked,
I knew that if my days were dark, that storms were often frail,
And they would likely pass, from dark to shades of pale,
There will never be such darkness, as blinds my way ahead,
There will never be such coldness to fill my days with dread.

My soul knows the greatest truth, that ever held a man,
My Spirit knows most awesome love, whose willing gift I am,
My life has utmost purpose, and divine destiny,
My way ahead, though sometimes dim, is as sure as the day I see,
I have such a life, fine as gold, and silver very rare,
I am so loved, and so esteemed, and held in treasured care.
