Can't be judged

People judge so quickly
With words so spite and cruel
Can’t they just be happy
That friends find love and joy
Happiness so hard to find
And quickly ridiculed
Already the way is tricky
Why make it more difficult
Opinion bandied as sharp blades
Cutting into others
Is acceptance too much to ask
Let alone joy at good news
Yet some may still wonder
Voiced or not this query is
Why views of others
Means so little to me
I know what makes me happy
I know what I want and love
If they don’t like
Well that’s just too damn bad
All I want is to be happy
For the harpies to let me be
Stop the silly intrusions
You have your own life to live
I dare not expect
Others to think the same
Only hope that they can accept
My views and seek not to blame
My choices against another
Who has no guilt to bear
For love nor interest nor joy
Ever should be judged
