Journey

Your words set to music
Enchanting a symphony
Within the darkened halls
Of another’s soul.
            **
Pious readings
Take me under wings
While you guide my flight
In the stale midnight air
             **
I reach for you
Just beyond your grasp
I seem to slip away
Losing myself in this beautiful letdown.

Images of life
Burned into my soul
I peer through jaded eyes
To see the world without meaning.

Here without you
Lost in self doubt
Afraid to trust
In an unimaginable love.
            **
You hold me close
And I dance upon His rhymes
Wondering
How He could love someone
Like me.

My fingers trace the pages
Words from centuries ago
Still capturing hearts
As tears take on a new meaning.

Captivated in a perfect melody
Praying for a man’s love
While deciding destiny
I take flight
In the arms of a savior.

Author notes

Personal poem, about my stuggle with being a christian and the man who did help me to find God. Still needs a bit of tweaking. Thanks to all who read. - T

    Amazing

    I really like this poem.
there is a lot of depth to it and that's great. It all flows nicely and isn't choppy. I really liked it. Keep it up.

    well done

I love the beauty and saddness in this poem. It flows very well and creates the sensation of starting and stopping - being happy and sad - like the paradoxes in life. I do feel your tension and your struggle. I pray that you have found peace with this beloved and with the Savior! God bless you mightily! - joanne
