Ding Dong, the pope is dead,
Which old pope?  The Polish pope!
Ding Dong, the polish pope is dead!  

Wake up, Cardinals in red,
One of you may be Christ Vicar instead

He's gone where the vicars lie,
Up high, oh, way up in the sky,
And a dead pope will bring
The media that will sing

Ding Dong, the sobbing-o,
Mourn him here, mourn him fro
Let them know the Polish pope is dead!

Author notes

o.o  Um...  I was in "The Wizard of Oz" when Pope John Paul II died...  It goes to the tune, "Ding Dong, the witch is dead".  It was an inspiration from the heavens, I swear.  Though, y'know, I thought he was dead for years, and that they preserved his body with chemicals, and had him strung up like a puppet, with a poorly done ventriloquist...  since he was such a popular pope, they could hold more control over the Catholics, but then people began to either tire of him or became suspicious, so they finally let him 'die'.  Don't be a priss.  My brilliance makes up for the lack of morality.

    And I call him the 'nazi pope'. As if popes aren't nazi in the first place with their restrictions and discrimination. And all of their inquistions... heretics... Money... yes, that is what the church and drug dealers love.

    He was not so much dead as dead uncaring. And now we have an ex-Hitler Youth member as pope which is very nice. Never mind, the new one is no spring chicken so we can have all the fun of a new election quite soon. It's all good for business: the pizza and T-shirt sellers in St Peter's Square will do very well out of it.
