Two lives...
gone in an instant
with a single slam
Lights flashing
red and blue
People surround
family too
"What are we to do?"
is what they wonder
Their only daughter
along with her friend
is gone forever
only to be seen...
behind death's door

I decided to try a different ending for my poem "In An Instant."
Written June 28th, 2005
