Petal from the budding dew;
Innocent child to all she knew.
Loved by many, cared by all,
How could she tarry from the call?
With many dearly brought along,
Now begins their journey's song.
Many were the young brigade,
Into the darkness, light betrayed.
Leading all the lion's heart:
Never failing to do her part.
At the dusk of weary trail,
They stood at last to no avail.
Try as they all so did,
Darkness awoke--let fast the lid.
Like mother before, so did the daughter
Turning away and took it upon her.
So let soft the evening bells toll
For the innocent little one's soul.
Take back the pain and suffering's gain,
And love the little one that has been slain.
End it all now as light turns unto,
The legend is finished...and Little Rose too.
Author notes
IF you can't guess...this is about Little Rose. You said dark...but I'm sort of terrible at the whole dark thing. Tell me if you think this works. If not? I'll edit it and post a different poem.

Thanx
I'm terrible at it, Yunaleska, because I have to struggle with the not-so happily ever after. I don't like that. sigh Of course, I write a lot of sad and dreary works, but at the time that I wrote this one up I was in a down right merry-cheer mood. Thanx for the comment though!

Hee, Hee :D
Oky...I'll dice it up for you, Sissy.
"Petal from the budding dew;
Innocent child to all she knew."
-->These two lines are explaining that Little Rose came from Rio but has a lot of the same traits (like head-strong) from Rose (aka budding dew).
"Loved by many, cared by all,
How could she tarry from the call?"
-->Here it explains that Rose was cared for by everyone around her...Kira, Rio, Kikio...all of them. And asks the reader how she could forsake those that cared so much for her.
"With many dearly brought along,
Now begins their journey's song."
-->This is where the actual story begins. It's more or less introducing the whole thing.
"Many were the young brigade,
Into the darkness, light betrayed."
-->Here it's basically saying that they are headed off on a journey where good(aka light) is forsaken in the evilness(dark) around them.
"Leading all the lion's heart:
Never failing to do her part."
-->If it wasn't obvious, this is my way of referring to Peppercorn. And that she'd never fail to do what she had to do to get them all through whatever they're going through in one physically/mentally sound peice.
"At the dusk of weary trail,
They stood at last to no avail."
-->Here it's mentioning the end of the journey. It's saying that they've come to where they needed to be only to find that they can't make it. They've come up short of what they need.
"Try as they all so did,
Darkness awoke--let fast the lid."
-->Here it speaks about them trying everything they could possibly think of but the evil they were trying to prevent came out anyway. The last part "let fast the lid" is my way of eluding towards saying they tried to contain it.
"Like mother before, so did the daughter
Turning away and took it upon her."
-->Here I mention Rio again. Rio, as you know, will do practically anything for Rose. Little Rose will do anything for Kira. So Little Rose ends up taking it upon her to stop it the only way she can think of.
"So let soft the evening bells toll
For the innocent little one's soul."
-->Here is the end. The evil is vanquished and everyone is returned. But it's sad because Little Rose gave everything in order to have it that way. (Bells tolling is a sign of a death and/or marriage normally)
"Take back the pain and suffering's gain,
And love the little one that has been slain."
-->Here it's more of a plea to take everything back so that they can have Little Rose again.
"End it all now as light turns unto,
The legend is finished...and Little Rose too."
-->Here dawn finally arises over the devastation. With it the last strains of darkness vanish and the legend ends.
That's the whole thing, Sissy.
As for this actually being a planned story...um...shrug I wasn't thinking so...

Oh! Oh! I first got the idea that it might've been about Kira having the dark side that Rose had possessed, but when Little Rose was mentioned, it reminded me of the miscarriage Rose has to have in order to save Little Rose. But, it seems that in your right, Little Rose dies!
I certainly hope that won't happen in any story! It does work, though I'm a little off on what the story is behind this write of yours, sissy. I do so love it though. I hope you'll explain to me what's happening because, as we both know, I am quite slow at times!

Well I like this. It's sad and it is quite dark so I think it works. You're not terrible at it.
