Virginity

Rust coloured secrets
Drip from my lips

Kiss me again
Keep your hands on my hips

In too much agony
What to do, what to say?

Give me your hand
Make the world go away

Everyone is hiding something
They can't let others know

I don't have any secrets, I love you
Why can't you just let this go?

I sit quietly next to you
You know it all anyway

I just want you to leave now
Why won't you go away?

Some things are too priceless
To just give away on a whim

It never started out that way
I thought you were him

I think it's best I go now
You come at too high a cost

How can you say that so easily?
When to you in the shadow of the woods, my virginity was lost.

Author notes

Sometimes the price of "true love" comes at a higher cost that we can realize.

Not a personal experience. Just an observation.

This is another excellent poem! The soft, very soft conversational tone is absolutely perfect to the subject! Wonderful! Bravo!
