What is in a name?

What is in a name?
Why is it so vital?
Is it power, pride or fame?
Association, rank, or title?
Would it be of more or less prestige,
To be "Mr." or "my liege"?
A name shows off your lineage,
And as with every designation,
It lets all know your heritage.
And flaunts your reputation.

So by any other name, would a rose REALLY smell as sweet?
Or would we disregard it as an ordinary weed?

Amazing! This is so true! You took a line from Romeo and Juliet and turned it into something else. I loved how you took a quote and told us of how we might be thought of as different. Though, in Romeo and Juliet, it was Juliet delivering this line about the names of the Capulets and Montagues! Keep up the good work! Since Rambler couldn't give any applauses, I will!

You show an ability to bring in knowledge of a wider range and mix it with poetry without being pedantic. This is an art, technicians need not apply. Sorry I'm out of applauses because these words deserve one.

    Very nice

Very nice, very nice indeed. I like the fact you can take something so mundane and make it of such significance. Every word of this is completely true, for I have yet to see anything of much difference. Good write, I look forward to more.
