Rebirth of Mother Earth

In the dead of night,
Deep within the silence,
The attack begins....

My heart in my throat,
My stomach churning,
My hands shaking,
I take my sword and charge forth....

With the clashing of metal,
With the deafening screams,
The battle rages on....

At first light all is seen,
The slain bodies covering the land.
The blood dripping from my sword.
The fires burning out of control.
Women crying for loved ones lost.

The dead....rotting,
The bleeding....dying,
The hero's standing....
Battered and bruised,
Strong and proud,
Having won against the greater evil....

No death in vain,
No lost life forgotten,
A token of remembrance,
A piece of history,
A memorial of treasured soldiers....
A book of brave souls always to be cherished,
Forever to be honored,
A testament to their final selfless acts....
The book written by man for man....
With stood the test of time,
Holding within it's pages the truth of the past....
Telling of the Rebirth of Mother Earth.....
