Reach - a rictameter poem

Missing image
The bridge

connecting me

to my hopes, dreams and faith

is not a structure made by man.

I reach to the heavens for my answer

and my Lord reaches down to me

and touches me with Love.

Jesus Christ is

the Bridge.

Author notes

Is it better to give love or receive love? First we have to receive the perfect love from God, then we can love those He puts in our lives.

"A man's reach should always exceed his grasp, or what's a Heaven for?" -Robert Browning

This picture filled me with great peace.

This is my second attempt at a new form - the rictameter poem.

This was an interesting poem and I understood what it was about,Jesus acting as a bridge to allow people into heaven when he died for sins right?

Thank you for reading and commenting so honestly....I'm thinking of "stealing" your motto - "be who you are not who they want you to be" - I sure am glad I can do that on this web site. Take care and thanks again. - joanne

    Worthwhile

Oh it's been so long since I've seen one of these poems... I think I was in school when one last passed in front of me... I always enjoyed things like this, and this is fabulous. You're right, He is the bridge, and Amen for it. Great write, and keep up the wonderful work!
    God Bless

Very nicely done. A display of faith that I see little of in any poetry that I read. Life is tough for me currently and this blessed me, at least enough to make it to the end of the day. thanks

    beautiful

A wonderful analogy of Christ as the bridge for all of humanity. It seems as if it was written with much love, and that makes it beautiful.
