I wait
An empty shell
In fear I sit and watch
My mind, my soul, are numbed and cold
My precious, sweet child, her body so frail
My only thought: "God, let her live"
Insensate, void, inert
Until she wakes
I wait

Perfect in form, but sad in context. My heart just stopped when I was reading this . I hope everything turned out well. Thanks for entering this into the contest.~vj
