Faith

In winters dark night
No touch of the sun comes near,
Yet still I believe.

As cold becomes pain,
The night seeps into my soul;
I hunger for light.

Time drags in this place:
Hope for dawn seems a folly,
Summer but a dream.

My heart yearns for peace.
My frozen body craves warmth.
My soul fears this night.

Yet still I believe,
Even when its face is hid -
The sun still exists.

    There is passion in this poem, and a strong will to stand tall. I like the metaphors of nature you've used, they were wonderfully effective, and certainly enhanced the reader's experience while reading this. Awesome write, thanks for entering this in my contest
