Freedom?

Freedom comes in all shapes and sizes
In all different forms and so many guises
For many they find happiness and feel free to be
For others they are captured and not really free

For without any boundaries there are no rules
Nothing to stop us from becoming such fools
The freedom of others can bring hurt in our lives
Their simple words become sharpened knives

Their happiness and freedom traps us inside
All promises of peace just more words they lied
And do they care of the hurt that they cause
Why should they for it's freedom they have of course

Author notes

i guess the question is what is freedom and does total freedom bring happiness to all?

suppose i had better clarify that i wrote this with a view to some world situations that i have been looking into lately. Itsd not about individuals but about society in general

Hey, this is a great poem in my opinion. Cause I think it is mostly very true esp this bit
"For without any boundaries there are no rules
Nothing to stop us from becoming such fools"
I agree. People need some boundaries to stop the line between right and wrong becoming blurred but I also think everyone is born knowing what right and wrong is and if they trusted that instinct forever then freedom would be a natural thing and not something people try to force. Does that make sense ? I hope so. Anyway this poem reminds me of and Irish one we had to study in school and it is brill

ah well i guess the only way to understand it is if you were inside my head lol. It was a reflection on society, politics, fairness in trade etc. It mightnot have shown a lot but it was my reflection and feeling on it

"Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security, will not have, nor do they deserve, either one."
    (Thomas Jefferson)

Freedom is something that we have, with boundries. We are free to say, think and do what we want, as long as it does not interfere with the life and liberty of another person.

Freedom is something, too often we take for granted and something we assume will always be ours. Though, that is not that case. Not unless we fight to keep what is ours our and set our own boundries.

Nicely written, though I feel the form, alluded to a more individual aspect than a society one.

    with love,

    Criss

actually it wasn't directed at anyone but was about something i have been feeling inside for a while. Now if you wanna take it personally thats up to you but it wasn't anything to do with you.
