Dear God,
Thank you for my life.
I have felt your presence in my life strongly this year.
Thank you for being there.
I am so glad you brought me out of the darkness and into the light.
Thank you for being the light that has guided my footsteps back to my life.
I was so afraid to make changes in my life.
Thank you for being my anchor as I weathered the storms of change.
You have shown me that if I set my mind to do something I can do it.
Thank you for showing me other paths to take when my plans didn't quite work out.
I have met some new people this year who have become part of my life.
Thank you for my new friends.
But most of all I am thankful that you have given me hope again.
Wish you were still here in the flesh to hug.

You did a great job expressing yourself to the Lord in this poem.
. I can understand.. God has brought you out of the darkness and has given you hope again. I know how you feel. I was raised around a guy who was abusive to my mother.. and she means everything to me. But finally God made my mom wake up and realize that she needed to get out of there! And now I have hope again.. I have a new step dad! .. See God works in amazing ways.. and I know that He will always be there for me all the days of my life..as He will yours ..
You are thanking God for all this..and I'm glad. Some people don't take change easily. But you accepted it. ...
