Whispers breeze through the air in the quiet night
Thoughts of old times past come into my head
I see the black and white that life has offered me
And I wonder what the future is going to bring
I sway in the summer wind
To and fro--life's great tempo
All the times I wondered when the pain will end
And times of dark ended death passed inside
With the light shinning at the end of the tunnel
But the light was too hard to see when life got dark
Threads of friendship
Binds me to reality
Seconds, hours, days, years all passed
And the dark times turned into grey ones
Nothing seemed too bad to handle
As long as I had the love for living life
Blessed am I to have
A life that's given to me
Thoughts of old times past come into my head
I see the black and white that life has offered me
And I wonder what the future is going to bring
I sway in the summer wind
To and fro--life's great tempo
All the times I wondered when the pain will end
And times of dark ended death passed inside
With the light shinning at the end of the tunnel
But the light was too hard to see when life got dark
Threads of friendship
Binds me to reality
Seconds, hours, days, years all passed
And the dark times turned into grey ones
Nothing seemed too bad to handle
As long as I had the love for living life
Blessed am I to have
A life that's given to me
Author notes
I dont care that its not the best poem. I just care that I wrote it. I have been through soooo much horrible medical problems lately that I am just glad to be able to breath, write, live!

Awww, Jen, this is such a heartrending poem. Knowing of your illness as I do, makes it even more poignant. I think about you so often, wondering how you're doing.
I see this poem was written a couple of years ago and nothing posted since then. But it seems to speak volumns about you and your life.
I hope to see you on more often and that you're up to posting a new poem soon.
Take care, my friend. You're always in my prayers.
love and
Dee

delightful
This is an excellent poem. I am glad I checked in and read it. I know what it's like to have ongoing medical problems, and having a good day means a real lot! -
wow.. thought provoking and deep, but I like it. It's easy to read and most people could relate to it on some levels. its a different perspective that I'm not used to. good work.. ~shirley

This is a very beautiful poem that gives hope and meaning to the sadness of life.

I agree it is not your best. BUt that it is oneof your favorites can be read in the sheer intensity of the poem. THis knowledge of life as something too easily lost seem to jump out of the poem at me. It was so familiar and I realised that same element can be found in poems that found themselves often in life threatenig situations. Poets like Sassoon and Rof Cau.

Winning life is a matter of living it and to live it we have
to realize it is by our choice just like you describe here.
Black will turn to grey with time and then to white once more.
It is only necessary for us to hold on long enough for the change to come...

excellent
I loved! THIS poem because it had so much originality to it, and each sentence was well thought through, and flows so beautifully, and this is a personal experience to you, that you put foward to the reader so well that he could clearly understand exactly what you were trying to convey, and thats amazing, keep up the stellar work.

i like this because it didn't really go where i thought it was going to at first, It is beautifully written and the flow, while unique, works greatly. I also think that a lot of people would be able to relate to this. Well Done.
