Shining dust of the evening

Shining dust of the evening
How winter renovates in beauty by you
Dancing in the sky afar
Covering our world asleep

Oh shining dust of the evening
How you make grace in spirit out of
The darking cold that we know
How you sparkle as our little stars
Here in this clouded night's time

Shining dust of the evening
White sheep in our lure to sleep
How you float as our world goes to dream
What winter fairy do thee hide...as I softly slumber

Oh shining dust of the evening
How christmas became in character
By the gentle like of you and your tranquil disposition
How children's laugher echoes around in the winter spell
Helping you to live up to your name of snow.

~Nick

A lovely write, thank you for entering dear Poet.

  • This is very very beautiful. A wonderful piece that was breathtaking to read.  Yes, I too found this dreamy - almos ethereal in its form and imagery. Wonderful writing.

    don't touch it!

this is so dreamy (i sound like i'm from the 50's, i know) i mean i just makes me feel all melty and good about things.
i'm actually wishing there was snow outside, despite my permanent coldness. it's really only good when there's lots of it.
