Pain to Gain

This pain, this fear is all to real
They say life begins to change
in a very broad range
It's happening so fast
I even start to envy the past
Each night I cry to God and search the sky
There is no answer for me to be comforted by
The wounds are so slow to heal
The pain and agony force my head to reel
I see the mercy and grace
But I still feel as if being chased
The devil has made his thrust
Each turn and twist turns my heart to dust
If only......but no
I cannot be brought so low
Though troubles surround me
and I am brought down to my knee
Though loss and pain engulf me
I'm brought to see
That Someone is holding on to me

Author notes

I wrote this while my life seemed to be crashing down on me. My hero and brother Jason was mobilized to go to Iraq, and my bro Daniel was leaving for Cali. other stuff was happening too..but yea

Amazing struggle comes though on this piece. It's hard to gain so much knowledge, and then apply it to wisdom and confidence. You did a really good job expressing your pain and that walking with a purpose is no easy task to do.
