The fire consumes her
hot and wild
tempestuous waves of heat
A fever boils
scorching her blood
as she curls up and cries in defeat
Sorrow erupts
claws through her soul
tears at her barren womb
cloying smoke covers
the scent of her blood
she inhales it like rancid perfume
Magma surrounds her
sucking her in
Steeping her heart in despair
Infertile they told her
“no choices left”
she tried doctors and drugs and prayer
She screams at the torment
There’s no way to fight
The agony licking her veins
She suffers the torture
that sears her inside
and curses her God for the pain
She was formed from the mud
and created for this
with every breath destined to yearn
Hell is a woman
without a child
She knows what it is to burn
