Goosebumps

Missing image
They are the tingle you feel up your back
whenever you are shivering to the bone
goosebumps always come with a chill
or walking on a dark street all alone

There are goosebumps in anticipation
from a first date or your very first kiss
and goosebumps on your honeymoon
throughout the night of wedded bliss

The scary movies when you were a child
would give you goosebumps galore
thinking there was a monster under the bed
or there was one hiding behind the door

We would get goosebumps in the winter
as our noses got red in the winter snow
getting goosebumps on a bumpy hillside
sliding faster and faster on the sled we go

As we would quiver, shudder and shake
our goosebumps would cover each arm
caused by the weather or being afraid
or falling for that guy with all the charm

You might be interested to know that gooseflesh, goosepimples, goosebumps are known in Scotland as 'caul creeps', meaning the coldness that creeps up your spine when you're in one of the situations you describe. Great spooky word. There's a stone age burial ground in the hills near here called Cairnpapple. Try going there on a late evening! Or rather, don't ! Caulcreeps for me every time. Well Done.

this is really funny..and I have experienced goosbumps except for the wedded bliss part and stuff like that.. lol.. I love goosbumps.. they are so fun .. I did get goosbumps a lot when I was younger.. because there was this monster under my bed that was gonna get me if I didn't hold on to my bear tight enough or get far enough under the covers to where he wouldn't grab me lol. You did a great job.. love ya mom ~ASHLEY~
