His love for God was as contagious as the flu
he lit my fire again for Christ Jesus in my heart
teaching me passion and that God loved me too
Charles dedication to our Lord and Savior
helped my life for Jesus be on fire once more
feeling lost and alone my faith was slowly fading
then he helped me once again to open God's door
Through teaching me scriptures from the Bible
then singing worship songs from his heart
he made me realize how much I needed Jesus
and that God's presence I could never depart
His encouragement and love pulled me through
I will always love and cherish him dearly till I die
my faith is once again burning ever so bright
my love for Jesus Christ I shall never deny
God once again fills my life with such happiness
He fills my heart with love like I have never known
Charles thank you for your love and guidance
because of you my love for Jesus Christ has grown
Author notes
I want to thank Charles for being such a wonderful influence in my life and my faith for God. He has not only brought love and happiness as a son but has helped me with my faith as I struggled desperately to find my passion. Living amongst the non believers and no encouragement had taken it's toll on me and my faith. But into my life stepped Charles with his love, compassion, patienence encouragement and knowledge of God's words.
He has helped me strengthen my faith and also became a part of my family. I love him as a son and he continues to be a major influence on my life as a Christian. Thank you Jesus for sending me such a wonderful young man to love. And thank you Charles for all the love and happiness you bring to my life. God Bless you always. Mom

This is a lovely, sincere tribute to a very special young man who has touched many people with, not only his spiritual poetry, but also his gentle, kind, forgiving spirit. Your affection and appreciation comes through with warmth and joy.

The only thing i would change is the poem almost leads the reader to think he has passed on because you speak in past tense. I think it might be more effective if you change the tenses to present tense unless he is no longer a sense of inspiration in your life., but that is not the impression i get from your author notes. Either way, a nice tribute to someone you care about. Good luck in your contest.

Taking people for granted is something i know so much about. Often you dont realise until its too late. Using and abusing ; i used to do that alot and never even knew it. I almost lost somebody who means a hell of alot to me because of it. I got saved though - strange really, you go out of your way to let them know how you feel about them, and do everything in your power to spend time with them, and they tell you your hurting them. What a blow that is. Great write though, deffinitly made me think about what ive got.

This is so beautiful and I don't think that there is much that I can say. It is clear the person you wrote for adored your words and I can't blame him. You are a beautiful person and you manage to draw other beautiful souls near to you and I can see why they are. Gorgeous write Sandy

A+!
The Diggety is right. Often, we take the incredible people some of us have in our lives for granted, like everyone has someone like them. I know that without people like my sister, I would be SO lost, and it's great to see someone take the time to show their appreciation, especially in a form like a poem. Great write!!! -
this is so touching!!! We should all try harder throughout our busy days to stop and appreciate the good friends we have.
GHreat write!!! Keep up the good work!!

Wonderful Thoughts
This was a beautiful thank you poem to a wonderful person, I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet but I am sure he's just as wonderful as many poets have said in the past. I Like the way you displayed the image and the flow of this just seemed ever so right. The movement of the write is what got me here and the title too. I'm always interested in seeing really good poems in the Featured selection. I'm glad this was worth coming to. Thanks so much.

well done
This was a nice piece with some real heart felt emotion and sentiment behind it. It's nice to see that from poetry about Christ. It's also really nice to see the kingdom continuing to grow as this piece shows it is. Unfortunately I've not met somebody whose love for God was contagious, I know I wouldn't describe mine as that. I wish I knew somebody like that and could ask them a few questions.
It was a nice rhyme scheme, the flow wasn't always perfect, but it worked fairly well. If you could make it better I'd try to, but I think the reason this poem is good isn't because of flow, it's because of subject material, which you cover masterfully. Keep it up. -
What words can be said
when one says so much
How can I let you know
my heart you truly touched
Reading this has brought tears
and happiness to my heart
And now and through all the years
we shall never be apart
With the love that we share
and the peace God brings
My dear mom, I will always care
thank you for everything
This poem is so amazing
it is wonderful in it's truth
Though I am still very young
you still listen to this youth
I will always love you mom
and I will cherish every word
Know that this poem is so sweet
the sweetest I ever have heard
I am glad that I have helped
I am glad that I was sent to you
Because now we can rejoice together
as God helps carry us through
No walls or barriers will hold us back
from worshiping the Lord together
Know that our love as a son and mother
will last from now and forever

I love you and know that I am always praying for you!!
