Lavendar Smells

Lonely there stood, a flowering tree
Alone in that garden with an emerald glow,
Velvette lawns hosted a sumptuous show,
Enchanted with the flowers, that fell for free;
New buds did bloom, to let the old flowers fall,
Drenched in that lavendar's scent
An ethereal smell, which the Heaven's sent
Revered, I stood there awaiting my lover's call.

Sweetly they moved, the lavendar mist to show
My lover's face
Engrossed in that lavendar wind's blow
Lost in the beauty of the merging ways
Leaving me to immerse in that lavendar's flow
Sublime and mild, we kissed the days.

    Really wonderful poetry.

    I just recently bought some lavendar bath products and like the fragrance as it is not overpowering but has just the right touch. I like the sonnet in so many ways. Another example of great poetry here.

    My favorite scent in the world is lavendar. this is a lovely poem, and though it is in the rhyme scheme of a sonnet, I am used to a bit more continuity in the meter. I know there can be a bit of flexiblity, but for me this was a bit much.
    Thank you for your efforts.

    Great imagery, the background really adds to the poem, it puts the reader more in place to actually get in depth within the words, great job, later, crackertl82
