camping

I love camping and building memories
I’ve seen laughter and heard tales of old
While something deep inside seem to come alive
Each story growing bigger every time that its told

Sitting around the campfire while coyotes start to howl
Looking past the firelight into the starry night
Feelings that have not been felt  feelings of unknown
Fresh mountain air blowing with smells of delight

Leaving all your worries and cares back at home
Thinking thoughts that only seem to come when you are there
I love this life only by experience can it be explained
Being with friends and loved ones nothing can compare

Good poem Sam, vacationing in the wilderness brings people closer together in an odd way. Especially - when (some of us) are scared of the dark and have to be chaperoned to the outhouse at night. Hehehe ((like me)) I love all the shared memories and laughter. Good luck in the contest. I love your poem ...Love ya.. me
