it's a place...
a hood...
a borough...
a block...
your face
will get stomped or shot up with glocks
if you don't have a crew that'll ride to the death
and everyone and they mom gets high from the meth
dope is really big, bundles move in an hour
and beef hits the grill when relations turn sour
you're a girl? - you get pimped out
dudes get recruited
and your whole gang will pay for something that only you did
ghetto kings fall
'cause there's always some one higher
fuck with the wrong dude and your house is catchin fire
blood floodin' the gutters, the air is poluted
shit don't gotta make sense, as long as its suited
you can't trust anybody, not even your neighbors
little kids down the block, could stick you with razors
teens are on the corners with pistols that do damage
grown men pack automatics so they have the advantage
you're iced if you're white
and questioned if your spanish
cops and all justice have been kicked out and banished
don't stop and chat, or nod your head to passers by
when you hear tecs poppin they ain't aimin' at the sky
you might be walkin by
dudes'll clap at your guy
just 'cause he was actin fly
now you cryin', askin why?
you won't step out this hood
without a mark of remembrence
if you find a way out, nightmares will be your severance
everybody's hard, because everybody has to be
the whole damn thing is a motherfuckin catastrophe
...
it's a city of sadness
of dreams that have been crushed
tears that can't come out
maturation's rushed
you don't live untouched, constant fear and worries
the whole population wants to get out in a hurry
but you can't, once your in so deep you don't get out
so you resort to drugs and pumpin lead out
you most likely gettin bleed out
no dying peacefully
it's hard around here
no one in these streets are free
and it's sad
when people say "these streets are for me"

I think this is incredible, darlin'! Again proving what a remarkable gift you have! While there's nothing, right now, that you can do about your location, you can change the people around you! And later, when you're able, you can leave those streets! There is life out there, where people don't get shot up in broad daylight; where people do care about their neighbors; where girls aren't sold, like so much meat, for money! This is incredible, George! You're an awesomely talented young man! Don't waste it, my friend!

amazed
If my neighbourhood was as bad as that i dont know what i would do. You have managed to be very descriptive without losing concept as a result a WONDERFUL piece. -

Babe , wow, This was amazing. YOur words were just perfect, every thing flowed wonderfully, you sent a message , told a story, and gave it mad emotion.
I am so sorry you have to live like this. And that you have to feel like this.
I wish there was something I could do for you
All my love and hope for safer days

AWESOME Imagery
Woohoo!
The first to read!
Ok, ok.. time for the comment...
Well... this one sucked me in as well... You have an excellent handle on imagery and have made it ur whipping boy
. It was as if I walked the same streets you described above... and the emotions u conveyed were purrty intense. The sadness and isolation... helpless to the enviro in which someone finds themselves in... and the disturbing and saddest part is those who give up to the point and only embrace it...
"no one in these streets are free
and it's sad
when people say "these streets are for me"
Spifftacular write... I see an ongoing theme.
