OASIS #3
There's a part of every city
Where decent folk are scared to go.
And if perchance they have to
Their pace is quick not slow.
Sometimes it's the City centre
Sometimes a pleasant park.
Innocuous in the daytime
But dangerous after dark.
These places are not private!
They belong to you and I.
So why don't good folk go there?
Why are they scared to even try?
Because of drunken yobs
And others of that ilk.
Who have been allowed to run riot,
Since they left off mother's milk.
They claim they are not hooligans.
That they're only having fun.
But such a sense of humour
Is as funny as a loaded gun.
It's time for concerted action
Against this boorish new brat-pack.
The time has come for citizens
To claim the cities back.

This was a response to a challenge from Dave Robinson of Baggywrinkle when we were both performing in Lancaster and were walking to the digs from a performance late one night or early one morning.
BTW thanks for the info on the link. I'd hooked it to the poem's edit page and not the actual poem!

Your link to #3 from #2 is skewed up…
In the past there were bad gang problems here too – but now most of the gang members are in gaol or look about as scary as Mick ‘the mummy’ Jagger, (I used to be a great stones fan but they look so pathetic performing on life support, there ought to be and age limit, there really oughtˇ!) so not many scary spots now… plus not very big cities and no red neck hick sheriffs in the wop-wops (rural areas)… not even wild animals except the odd violent kiwi…
Odd how people read #1 and don’t follow on – I have never quite understood that…
