A Time to Heal
Love is Mercy.
When you feel you deserve it least,
Turn your mercy inward and release.
Turn your mercy inward,
Let go.
Forgive yourself for all of the hurt and pain,
The guilt that has held you, the shame.
Turn your mercy inward
For all the fear, the pain, the blame,
The responsibilities, the cares, the grief,
The mistakes, and failures,
Which in essence were inflicted upon you,
But were never, ever,
Who you really are.
If others deserve undeserved mercy,
Why do you not?
Turn your mercy inward and forgive,
Yourself.

To forgive ourselves is the hardest thing to do.
Thank you for your comments.

Thank you. I had to learn to forgive myself, I know it is hard.

Excellent!
Having read all of the entries so far, I think yours offers the best encouragement for Charles. God has forgiven him. He has to look inside of himself and realize that he is only human and that his motives were pure. We all sometimes make mistakes that unintentionally hurt someone. That doesn't make him a bad person. He should forgive himself... apologize to the person who was hurt.... and consider it another lesson in life. I hope he reads your poem and listens to your advice. Great poem! It should be a winner. Good Luck!!! Linny -
