Is it too cliché [to say out loud]
Through the window we look picture perfect
But every family has their own defect
He listens through the door way
Ever so stuck in his peculiar way
Invents a new ailment each and every day
Anything to keep the unthinkable away
Struggling to get a grip
Falling apart strip by strip
Gripping with all his might
Some may be pitied by his sight
Mental illness isn’t all black and white
You can’t banish it behind closed doors right out of your sight
He is so why won’t you help him?
Or is it too cliché to say……………..out loud?
Instead you let him shout, and kick and hit and pout and scream.
Blue murder.
It makes my blood run dry
When I say I’m fine with it; well that’s clearly a lie
I’m hurting.
You’re hurting.
He’s hurting.
