A Keeper

He's ugly, he's big
Hasn't shaven in two weeks
His greasy hair's slicked back
She's kissed those ruddy cheeks

She's pretty, petite
She's got a lot to give
But she's afraid of ev'rything
Too scared to really live

Together, though, they laugh
At all those judging stares
"Why is SHE with HIM?"
They shun the hateful glares

WIth him she is safe
Protected, loved, and warm
To her his looks are sweet
He keeps her safe from harm

The other girls can giggle
And joke behind her back
They wouldn't if they knew him
They'd see their boyfriends lack

He treats her like a princess
Gives her all she needs
They can have their frat boys
But she's got what she'll keep!

Author notes

Yep. Who says ugly guys/girls can't have good-looking girlfriends/boyfriends? Sheesh. Lol.

Here is a case where love is literally blind! lol.
I think you have a good point though. What's on the inside is so much more important in the end. A frat boy is so much more likely to cheat and be a jerk because he thinks he's the sh** too! I like this part best:
    The other girls can giggle
    And joke behind her back
They wouldn't if they knew him
    They'd see their boyfriends lack
