The Quilt

A swirl of color lays on my bed.
Old memories that are given new life.
In shades of blue, purple, and red.
Tracing the swirls of color with one finger tip...
I remember the day you and I made this quilt.

Author notes

This quilt doesn't exsit but it makes a good story.

Even though the quilt does not "exist" you can still see it when reading your entry. Good Luck

Thank you very much. I'm glad you liked it. Quilts stir up such good memories. I wish I knew how to quilt. I hope some day to learn.

My grandmother does quilting as well and inside my house I have so many created by her, they are gifts to treasure. I have saved some of my childrens clothes, various pieces that have sentimental value and I hope that one day in the future I will be able to make one and give it to them as a gift. Wonderful write.

aww, I'm bummed that the quilt doesn't exist But I really love this piece. Such warm and beutiful imagery held within it. You've really done a great job on this. I have many quilts, much like the one described in this piece. They were hand made by my grandmother, a very long time ago. Each square was cut from the fabric of old clothes that were worn by my father and his brothers and sisters, so it really holds a lot of sentimental value and they are beautiful and very well made to withstand all of these years. My mother had them before me and I've had them over ten years myself...very long lasting quilt LOL Again great piece and thank you very much for entering the contest in honor of Whispered Love. Best of luck to you. Blessings, Gypsy
