Which Way Lord?

Dear Sweet Jesus,
I love you so very much.
You are my Lord, my Salvation,
my Best Friend, and my Guide.

I come to you tonight for direction.
Please guide my thoughts and my will
and my pen to find what it is
I think I am seeking.

I stand at a crossing point
in my life.
I stand at the junction of
many roads and I long to take
the road less traveled - the narrow road -
the road that will lead me to
Your perfect will for my life.

As a teacher, You have shown
me what to do, what to say,
who to chase after, and who to
relinquish to You.
You have never failed me once
and You will not fail me
now.

Lord please let me know Your will
for my teaching.
If I am to leave ACE
please let me know.
If I am to stay,
please let me know.
If Your will is for me to teach
at our new Church school,
please let me know.

Calm my fretting heart.
I ask forgiveness for worrying.
Financially I know You are my
provider and will fulfill all my needs.

Forgive my foolish fears.

What of the children left behind at ACE?
Please blanket them in your love
and protect them from the daily onslaught
of the demons of darkness.

Restore my faith and enthusiasm
and renew my calling
once again.

I am Your servant,
Your teacher,
Your pen,
and Your handmaiden.

Please let me know which road to take
today and tomorrow
next week and next school year.
Please let me not miss this
new turn in my road
to You.

I love You and I thank You
and I praise You for hearing
and answering
my prayer.

AMEN.

Author notes

I am seeking the Lord about my job as a teacher in the public schools and truly appreciate your prayers. I just do not know what to do. My job is stealing my joy and my health. And my Church is starting a brand new school next year. In the natural, we can't survive without my current salary. Please pray and I'm sorry this is such a selfish prayer.

Don't worry, God will bring you through.
Worry causes discontentment, which is a sin. If you haven't already, just throw it to God, he will supply you with all of your needs.
Your faith in him is what will get you through the darkest storms.
And don't worry about the ones you would leave behind, they are also God's children, and he will take care of them as well.
    Good luck with your journeys,
    Ashleigh <3

    AMEN!

Ah, that's what happened! You had a period at the end of the link, so the system misread the link. Anyway, there is no doubt God wanted you where you are at the moment; but, apparently, only temporarily: for it would seem He is now ready for you to be back at ACE. The one thing God has shown me is that everytime I've been instructed to make a move, such as the recent one, it's not necessarily a permanent change. We see that reflected in the lives of some of the ancient Biblical figures; told to move and later to return.

I wish I had seen this prayer last year; although, I see by the date that it was at a very busy time for me and just weeks before the brain aneurysm. Nevertheless, I would have been in agreement with you. We never can go wrong when we ask for God's will in our lives, rather than our own.

Lots of love and hugs, SisB♥n

Dear Lord, Your child is unsure of what path to take. She seeks Your guidance Lord. She wants to be in Your perfect will Lord. Although her family needs the money, she knows that You will provide for her if she stays in Your will. Open the door Lord, let her see the path she is to take clearly. She wants to serve You and those in need Lord. Guide her, give her peace....in Jesus name Amen

This is what we are supposed to do...pray for guidance and wait on Him for the answer...it will come..in His timing not ours. Thank you for seeking our prayers in this contest.

I liked this, alittle confused as to what ACE is, i don't believe i've ever heard of it. I often find myself repenting because i'm scared, but i wonder how foolish it truly does look in the eyes of the Lord. Great write, take care and God bless.

Indeed this is not a selfish prayer. I find it a very sincere and moving one...because you are pouring your heart before the Lord as you seek Him and His will for your life. I know God will reveal your answer before you...for in this I do have strong faith. God Bless you and Keep you...my dear.

This is very beautiful. I'm not a deeply religious person, hardly even what you would call a Christian (my boyfriend is helping me along the path, it is very long), but I liked this a lot. I've felt very lost and confused before as well, and I think that may be why I'm so drawn to this.

Thank you for your comments on my poem. The reason that I said "I wish to wish" is because in reality all stars eventually burn out or fade. So in my poem I am saying that I want to make a wish on a star that will not burn out or fade, but of course that doesn't happen, so it must be a wish. Just thought I'd explain it to you. Thanks again, and beautiful write!!

This was a very heartfelt prayer and not at all a selfish one. We all need guidance at one time or other, and who better to go to than Him who wants the best for you and Him in whom all things are possible? Don't be discouraged by the dark times because God promised us that he will turn all things for the good of those who love Him, and give unto us much more than we can ask or imagine.
Well done with this poem, I wish you the very best in this situation. God Bless you always, and I will remember you in my prayers.

    God is faithful!

Joanne, this is not a selfish prayer. You are wanting to make the right decision and in that you are seeking the one who knows all things. I think I call that wisdom.
I ask the Lord now to show you which path you are to take for the footsteps of a righteous man are ordered of the Lord. In Ezekeil it say that "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven". Father,if this season of Joanne's life is over than I pray that she will feel released from it and that your peace would just flood her mind. Concerning her fiances, Father, would you remind her that you own the cattle on a thousand hills and you provide for the birds of the air, how much more would you do for your daughter. Lord, we know you hold all the answers and know what is best and we lay this request at your feet and will continue to thank you for showing Joanne the decision that would be the best choice. amen and amen
