She said "I don't want to be left out in the cold
Pushed aside, just another washed up centerfold, no"
I see you try so hard, hold onto the fact
It was worth the price of never looking back
He can dress you up for the magazines
Extort your shape and buy you fancy things now
Way down deep inside you're still missing love
You're longing for the truth you're worthy of
And I will always love you
And I want you to know
that I'm thinking of you
Before she left, I told her not to go
Let me marry you, and I hoped that we would both grow old
But she was head strong, and she blew me one last kiss
Another birthday candle that I won't get to wish
Because I will always love you
And I want you to know
that I'm thinking of you
I often wonder just passing time alone
Will you ever call it quits, and come back home
Then I see your face smiling on the TV
I'm trying not to laugh, but I'm wondering what you ever saw in me
Because I will always love you
And I want you to know
that I'm thinking of you
He can dress you up for the magazines
Extort your shape and buy you fancy things now
Way down deep inside you're still missing love
You're longing for the truth you're worthy of
Because I will always love you
And I want you to know
that I'm thinking of you
Because I will always love you
And I want you to know
that I'm thinking of you
Then I see your face smiling on the TV
I'm trying not to laugh, but I'm wondering what you ever saw in me
Because I will always love you

I am sitting here listening to the song while I am following along. This is such a great song. Very touching, and beautiful. Even if I didn't have the song to listen to, I still could pick up the rhythm. I also really like the message of this song. I think this verse pretty much sums everything up:
"He can dress you up for the magazines
Extort your shape and buy you fancy things now
Way down deep inside you're still missing love
You're longing for the truth you're worthy of"
I would like to ask the same questoin as catz, is this going to be on one of your albums? Thank you for entering, I enjoyed reading your lyrics. -
Very nice... Loved it...

I like this a lot, Jeremi... the chorus is especially beautiful. The song itself is so expressive of what we sometimes feel is important to us, at least for awhile...fame, fortune, our picture in the centerfold.....much more important than the one left behind, the one who really cares.
Great job
Will we be hearing this on one of your albums?

This is certainly a far cry from the other songs of yours that I've listened to. Still, I liked the repetition, and am left to wonder who it is you're talking about...though I won't ask because it is none of my business. This is a good song, but if I didn't see your name on it, I would have never guessed that it was you who wrote it...I can tell that it is much more personal, as it didn't have the usual "Teeter-totter....Playground", upstart-horus8 sound to it. Nicely written.

Nice write
Great , heartbreaking take on this concept. This brought the old J.Giles Band song " Centerfold" to mind, but in a tragic way. Nice rythmn and flow. Almost song like ;-) -
awww
this is so nice. it's sad because she doesn't marry u and u can offer her so much! ur love is worth more than the stuff the other guy can buy her. good write!

Damn you, I almost cried. This really is beautiful - it's one of those songs like 'Everybody Hurts' that just touches a part of you and I don't know. I like this a lot. Barbie. Xx

seems as though these will make for great lyrics /are. It's odd how they can be put out on these pages and your mind automatically shifts into some melody that it thinks it might play too. This piece did just that.
I'm not much for using images of not-so-timeless objects such as a TV in any forms of writing, but I know that's my own contemporary hang up and it definitely has its place with such a piece.
Seems as though you have something good here. Best of luck with them.
