An angel’s voice rose very high in song
The tears flowed to the saddened melody
Her voice was her strength for so very long
She sang her emotion for all to see
She sang for her spirit, sang for her friends
She sang to assuage her way through her fear
She sang through the fights just to make amends
She sang for her God, he sat down to hear
Her voice slowly became a whispered cry
As we all watched her grow so frail and weak
She lay so fragile not wanting to die
Needing to sing, barely able to speak
She has been given her beautiful wings
Now as an angel she flies and she … sings
Love you Mom...

My mother passed after a year and a half with Cancer. Someone asked me about a candle in the relay for life and what I would put on the bag to hold that candle, and out this came...

ROFL... my username was a joke to begin with and then became something of an irony, then a full blown redundancy (as all clowns are evil)
At times it was sort of a defense from people in general... sort of a guarded online identity to go along with my guarded real life identity...
Thank you for the read and your comments, they are a welcome respite... -
wow...I love it when I have a hunch and it is right! She is still your angel. I am glad you don't hold her accountable for something I am sure she never had any plans to happen. I hope you don't think I ever suggested that you should..I comment and applaud not out of obligation, but out of admiration for a true talent! I wish I would have gotten to know you better at writing.com, I always admired your work, but was just a little scared of your name hehe.

Grrrrrrr, I envy you. YOU'RE SO PRETTY!!
This was so touching...it reminded me of my grandma. Your mother, yeah. I mean, what words are there for mothers?? They're like angelic, housewarming friends and foes...even when the only thing you want to do is get away from them. Singing is so beautiful...*sigh*. I'm real sorry...don't know how to say that and tell you I really mean it. Everytime I read your poetry, my esteem and opinion of you rockets sky-high. Hehehe, you are awesome.

Rhia couldn't have said it better.
I'm sorry to know that she has suffered, but just like you I believe that beautiful souls never fade away, they just move from space.
This is a fine and touching poem to remember your mother.

Beautifuly Moving
What a beautiful tribute to your mother. I can see where you get yor strength from; she was courageous in the face of cancer, life itself. Absolutely beautiful and moving
