Happy Birthday Daddy,
I'm missing you today.
You're not here beside me,
'Cos God took you away.
I'll blow out your candles,
And make a wish for you.
Maybe if I wish hard enough,
My wish will come true.
I wish to be with you again,
To see your smiling face.
To hug you one more time,
Be caught in your embrace.
The first year was the hardest,
But now I've learned to deal.
Time has taken away the hurt,
Though the wounds never fully heal.
It's a hard life without you,
I needed you by my side.
But I'll have to carry on without you,
Live through this rough ride.
Happy Birthday Daddy,

Wow, this is filled with so much emotions I had tears in my eyes, I'm so sorry for your loss. How old are you? Sorry, if that's to personal of a question then you don't have to answer. Anyways this was such a sad yet beautifully written poem. Thanks so much for entering this piece into my contest and good luck! Jess....wow...all I can say is just WOW. That made me cry!!! I know how down you get, I know you miss him...but I'm glad you are holding on. Keep your head held high hunny, you'll pull through. You did an excellent job with this poem...definately a tearjerker. I loved it.
