Common Tanka

Love and innocence
Hatred, the deceit of friends
Can be lost and found
Betrayed time and time again
As all is loved and hated

Author notes

It's just about love, hate, and friends

A tanka is a poem that consists of 5 lines with a pattern of syllables that go - 5:7:5:7:7 - you should try one. they are hard to do though!
    Love Always

I understand how hard it is to work with tankas. I myself spend at least an hour on each one I write, and they are only five lines. :-) With this poem, I felt it was too vague to really get any real insight or meaning out of it. It didn't feel complete because it was missing too much. I felt that you tried to cram in too much into one, short, restricted poem. :-\ But I understand how hard it is, so there's not much room for me to talk. I hope you keep working with them. They're very good for evolving your poetry.
