The Book Of Life

Set free In the land of man,
My spirit flows with pen in hand.

No words could I ever speak.
No words could I ever write.

Show the power of God
In all his glorious might.

My life is a verse,
A symbol or two

Bringing spirit of light,
From a land pure and true.

The Book Of Life
Is lived not read.

Each word not written
But better off led.

Try to grasp
What I’m trying to say

Live life in his service
And you need not pray.

He is always here
All around you

His spirit will guide you
With words that stick like glue

Take your life
And live a chapter

And you can be sure
That you’ll live forever after!

    "The Book Of Life

I really liked the message of this poem and I think those four lines sum it up perfectly. It means nothing to spout the word of God if you do not practice what you preach. The form was interesting - as it started I expected it to be a little constricting but it turned out to be very free-flowing, which seems to suit this piece best.

    Very nice work!

This is so amazing! The truth in it is very powerful. My faith in God is overwhelming, but I only have like 3 spiritual poems. But I love to read them. I love to be reminded of how much he truly has blessed me and how much his unconditional love never ever fails. Thanks again for such a beautiful write~!

I love the poem, it shows that God is truly with us, and you never do "read" the book, you "live" it. Very true with your view on life. I can't wait until you new poem(s) come out.

This poem was so sincere! I think it's great that your faith is so strong and that He inspires you to write such great poetry! I've written one spiritual poem in my life, when I was 12, but nowhere near as good as yours!
    'The Book of Life
    Is lived not read'
So unbelievably true! That could not have been said any better! Reading your work has sorta inspired me to write a poem on how God has touched my life and stuff so I think I'll do that soon.
