My Eyes

fly by night,
  Lovely

   in the absence of light
    you were there
     alone.

   brave,
 what i wanted to
   become

   courageous,
 Standing beneath
   burning sun

       a warm welcome
   greets
       a silent smile
   meets
       my eyes, dirty
   streets

  never once asking
for thanks
  how hard it must
have been
  alone

   you gave all you
  could
    and we asked for
   more
        ...

        and
  im simply
    sorry
what else can,
  i say
i love
you.
